Registration - Travel Soccer (Fall '23 and/or Spring '24)

Travel Soccer 2023/24 (Grade 3&4)

This is our travel program for Grades 3 & 4 Middleton (Massachusetts) Youth Soccer players. This is for players who will be in the 3rd or 4th grade during the Fall 2023/Spring 2024 soccer year. We will compete against teams from other towns within Essex County in Massachusetts.

This program typically involves 1 team game per week (usually held on Saturdays), 1-2 team practices per week, and 1 skills clinic (run by professional coaches from a local soccer academy) per week.

For the Fall season, we expect practices will begin in late August and games will being in early September.

For the Spring season, we expect practices will begin in late March, and games will begin in early April.

We try to keep teams as consistent as possible between the Fall/Spring seasons. For this reason, we encourage players to register for either/both seasons during our main registration window during May prior to the soccer year. (Our travel league requires us to submit our team rosters in early Summer, which is why we need to hold registration so far in advance.)

We plan to offer an additional opportunity to register for our Spring ‘24 season in December ‘23. We expect to have spots for all players on our Spring '24 teams, but there is a small chance we will run out of spots on the rosters for players who wait until December/January to register (our travel league limits how many players we can roster on each team).

The deadline to register for the Fall season will be June 3rd, 2023.

All players will also need to purchase a Middleton Youth Soccer Travel uniform from SewForth Apparel (in Middleton) before the start of the season. Travel uniforms from prior seasons may be used.

All players who will be in 5th grade or older during the 2023/2024 school year should register for our Tri-town Masco program through Topsfield Athletic Association.

Registration - Town Soccer (Fall '23 season)

Town Soccer 2023/24 (Grade 2 & younger)

This is our Middleton (Massachusetts) in-town soccer program for our Tots, PreK-K, and Grade 1&2 players. We typically offer a Fall season (September thru early November) and a Spring season (early April thru early/mid-June). A separate registration is required for each season.

We expect the Fall season will begin in early September and the Spring season will begin in early April.

The Tots program is a basic skills introduction via fun games and activities that involve as many touches on the soccer ball as possible. The goal of this program is to foster a love for the game while providing the kids an opportunity to learn the game and play with classmates. There is no scrimmaging at this age group. All players must have turned 3-years-old by September 1st to register for the following Fall and/or Spring seasons.

The Pre-K/K program is designed to continue the skills development, and introduces the game play side of soccer via small sided games and scrimmages. This program is typical broken up into 30 minutes skills and drills, 30 minutes scrimmages.

The Grade 1&2 program continues to develop individual skills while introducing informal team play. The session includes skills and drills as well as scrimmages. We also do our best to offer an additional practice day for this age group, typically led by one of our local club affiliates. The additional day is optional, and provided as we are able, day of the week TBD for the additional day.

We expect the following schedule for the Fall 2023 season:

Season Start: September 9th

Anticipated Season End: November 4th

We are unable to finalize exact schedules until we know how many players register for each age group. We expect to maintain a schedule similar to the Spring '23 season, which was:

SATURDAYS

Grade 1+2 Boys

8:00am or 9:00am Start time for 1 hr. (Dependent on inter-town scrimmages)

Grade 1+2 Girls

Start time 9:00am - 10:00am - With potential games in other nearby towns

Pre K and K Boys and Girls

10:15am - 11:15am

Soccer Tots moving to SUNDAYS

10:00am - 10:45am

MONDAYS

Grade 1+2 Boys and Girls weekly Practice

Girls - 5:00 - 6:00pm

Boys - 6:00 - 7:00pm

We anticipate the need to keep groups small, and as such, we will have a tremendous need for additional coaches/parents helpers. Please register as a Volunteer HERE or contact our In-Town Director, Lucas Layne, at [email protected] if you are able to help coach your player's team.
