Middleton Youth Soccer operates soccer programs in the spring and fall. The seasons start weather permitting, in early April and early September for spring and fall programs respectively.
Tots: For our youngest players, this is a coed introduction to soccer skills and drills. Players need to have turned 3-years-old before September 1st to participate in the following Fall and/or Spring seasons.
The Tots program is a basic skills introduction via fun games and activities that involve as many touches on the soccer ball as possible. The goal of this program is to foster a love for the game while providing the kids an opportunity to learn the game and play with classmates. There is no scrimmaging at this age group.
Pre-K/K Program: This program is for our players who are in Kindergarten or the school year immediately before they will be eligible for Kindergarten. This program is a good mix of skills and drills and an introduction to associative play and the team game via small sided play and scrimmages. Players should be 4 or 5 years-old as of September 1st to participate in the following Fall and/or Spring seasons.
The Pre-K/K program is designed to continue the skills development, and introduces the game play side of soccer via small sided games and scrimmages. This program is typical broken up into 30 minutes skills and drills, 30 minutes scrimmages.
Grade 1/2: This program is for 1st and 2nd graders where we continue our skill work, introduce small sided and large sided games, and scrimmage our friends in neighboring towns.
The Grade 1/2 program continues to develop individual skills while introducing associative passing and team play. The session includes skills and drills as well as scrimmages. We also do our best to offer an additional practice day for this age group, typically led by one of our local club affiliates. The additional day is optional, and provided as we are able, day of the week TBD for the additional day.
