TRYOUTS FOR NEXT YEAR’S GRADE 3&4 SOCCER PROGRAM

All players who wish to play in our Grade 3&4 Travel program next year (Fall ‘23 and/or Spring ‘24 seasons) are encouraged to attend our tryouts on May 23rd (Boys) and May 24th (Girls).  This would typically be for players currently about to finish Grade 2 or 3.

Boys Tryouts:               Tuesday May 23, 2023; 5:00-6:45pm

Girls Tryouts:               Wednesday May 24, 2023; 5:00-6:45pm

Where:                        Middleton Natsue Way (Transfer Station) Fields

Please pre-register your player for the tryouts at: www.middletonsoccer.com.  There is no cost to register/participate in the tryouts.  Registration for the tryouts will close on May 20^th.

All players will be able to participate in the program regardless of their tryout.  We use the tryouts to place each player on the most appropriate team.

If your player is unable to attend the tryouts, they will still be allowed to participate next year.  We will use other methods to determine which team to place them on.  But attending the tryouts will result in more appropriate team placement.

If your player does not expect to play in Fall ’22 but does expect to play in Spring ’23, we encourage them to attend the tryouts -- and to register now for the Spring ’23 season -- so that we can save a spot for them on the appropriate team for the Spring ’23 season.

All players should bring a soccer ball and a water bottle.  They should wear clothing appropriate for playing soccer, including shin guards (required) and cleats (optional).

Spectators are asked to observe the tryouts from a distance; please do not yell advice or instructions to any players during the tryouts.  Middleton coaches and professional soccer trainers will be guiding the players through the tryouts.

REGISTRATION IS OPEN FOR NEXT YEAR’S GRADE 3&4 SOCCER PROGRAM

For the Fall ’22/Spring ’23 Soccer year, we are encouraging players to register for both seasons at the same time.  This helps us form teams that are as consistent as possible between the two seasons.  You may register for both seasons (Fall ’22 and Spring ’23) at this time, or either one. 

If you know your player will only be playing in the Spring, we still encourage you to register now so that we can save a spot for them on the appropriate team for the Spring season. 

We do expect to offer an additional registration period in December for the Spring ’24 season.

The deadline to register is Saturday June 3^rd, 2023.

NOTE:  To register for both seasons, you must add both seasons into your shopping cart before checking out.  The two-season discount will be applied automatically during checkout.

We need to form our Fall ’23 teams during June, in order to meet our travel league’s deadlines.  This is why the registration process for our Fall season needs to happen in May.

INFORMATION FOR CURRENT GRADE 4+ SOCCER PLAYERS

For players who will be in Grade 5 or older in Fall ’23, our soccer program merges with those of Topsfield and Boxford into a tri-town “Masco” soccer program.  Information and registration for this is handled through the Topsfield Youth Soccer website.  You can find out more information at:

INFORMATION ABOUT THE MIDDLETON GRADE 3&4 SOCCER PROGRAM

For our Grade 3&4 soccer program, our players participate in a travel league and will compete against Grade 3&4 teams from other towns across Essex County.

The program typically involves 1 team game each week (typically held on Saturdays), 1-2 team practices each week, and 1 skills clinic each week (run by professional soccer coaches from a local soccer academy).  For the Fall season, we expect games will begin in early September and practices will begin in late August.  For the Spring season, we expect games will begin in early April and practices will begin in late March.

All players will need to purchase a Middleton Youth Soccer Travel uniform from SewForth apparel (in Middleton) before the start of the season.
